Hey Everyone
Kaleo this week has been to say the lest interesting. I spent Monday and Tuesday out with my fellow guy students on an over night to a place called mystic beach just south of the city of Victoria. Then on Wednesday I went with the rest of Kaleo on search for a Christmas tree and as for Thursday and Friday I spent them working on two different papers. And as for my ministry I went with my youth group to watch a hockey game it was amazing the team I was cheering for got killed 6 to 1. Although I think that the kids liked it. I also had the opportunity to read scripture this week in church but what I like most about church this week was when the kids from my youth group came up to me and asked when I was going to be back, which really made me feel like I have been able to have some sort of positive impact on the kids. Well I must also admit that I am looking forward to Christmas brake so I can recharge to be able to come back in January prepared for my ministry. But I must go so until next time fer well.

Hey Everyone
This last week has been very tiring but very interesting. I spent most of the week in class with Mr. David Lee who taught my Class on the foundations for church ministry. I learned a lot from his class about the nature and purpose of the church as well as the problems that many churches face and how to rectify those problems. I also spent most of my weekend working for camp Qwanoes during their men's retreat. I mainly worked in the camps dish pit washing the never ending amounts of dishes from each meal although for one of the afternoons that I worked I was able to work in the camps challenge course (the camps massive ropes course). And as for my weekly ministry this week I worked with the Sunday school again but what I enjoyed most about helping out this week was when one of the kids I help in the class came up to me and gave me a huge. I think that I just might be make a little difference in at lest one of the kids lives and for that I am great full. I also finally got a copy of next weeks Sunday school class material so I will know what is going on in class. Well I believe that is all I have to say so until next week fer well.

Hey Everyone
This week has been deepening for me as I spent long amounts of time in prayer because this was Kaleo's twenty four-hour week of prayer. I also spent most of the week doing homework I finished my camp ministry major paper but I still need to finish my per course work for David lee's course. So I will be brief about what how my ministry work went this week. So on Friday night my youth group went skating where I found out that it is not my favorite past time sport because I spent much of it on my but sliding across the ice. However I had a great time connecting with one of the girls in my youth group how was learning how to skate like me we shared a few laughs and a few falls together but had a great time doing it. I also came up with the idea to put up an invitation to the community to come join our youth group, which I posted Sunday on the churches announcement board in front of the church. I also had the opportunity again two work with the kids in Sunday school this week. Although I felt unprepared because I didn't know the lesson that the teacher was teaching about. So I have asked the head lady in charge of the Sunday school program if she could give me a copy of the class material so I can better help the teacher in his efforts to get the kids involved. Well I still have a paper to write so I must be off.

HEY EVERYONE
This week has been great I had two days off and then to days of studying and one day of class. I spent all Saturday writing a paper and I plan to spend the rest of today reading the pre-course work for the foundations of church ministry. While next week looks challenging because I have to read for church ministry, write a 5 paper for church ministry, and a 5 page paper for my camp ministry course that is worth 40% of my over all grade I think I will be able to get through with a lot of prayer. Well concerning my church ministry work I went back to the seniors home this week and had a great time with the seniors there even though they don't remember us from last week. I also help out with my youth group again this week. We watched a movie the chronicles of Narnia and planed the next several weeks so we will be prepared. Well its time for me to go but I would ask you if you would please pray for me so that I can get my home work do and do wisely.

Hey everyone
This past week has been relaxing and interesting I spent Monday and Tuesday caving and doing some street ministry to the homeless of Victoria. I was surprised to find so many homeless in Victoria but I have since learned that the reason there are so many homeless here is because Victoria is the warmest city in Canada. But now that this week is drawing to a close I must get back to work I have three paper to write and two books to read so I will be busy. Now concerning my youth group ministry once again this week it was canceled do to a church meeting however I did have the opportunity to work in the Sunday school at church this week. I also just started a new ministry this week at the local seniors home in Crofton. I spent an hour there it was an amazing time most of the residents suffer from Alzheimer disease but they are very friendly and talkative. I even met one lady named Isabel how was from Scotland who came to Canada after the Second World War as a war bride. I personally hope that I will have the opportunity to return there even if the residents don't remember my name. I feel if I can even brighten their day only for an hour then it would be an hour well spent. Well I must be off so until next week fer well.

Kaleo this is week has been long and hard I am tried and worn out. I spent my entire week studying and working on homework for my hermeneutics class and spiritual formation class but I have learned a lot and am happy that I have had this opportunity. And concerning my ministry this week the simple fact is that do to Halloween I didn't have one and as for church they still don't need my help so I really don't have much to say so until next week fer well.

Hey everyone
Kaleo this week has been long I spent most of my week reading and doing per-work for my hermeneutics class. But there were a few hours of fun that I did mange to slip in this week. I spent an entire day in Victoria helping the S.A.L.T.S crew winterize their ships. The day consisted many of sanding the Pacific swift's booms and stave's (the lager beam that holds the sails). I also managed to take I hike to the top of a mountain that is near camp. I had a lot of fun it was just myself Jim Badke and Miranda another Kaleo student. Now as for my youth group this week we had a movie nigh, so I felt completely prepared although I still wish I could relate to the kids better I think that this might be an area that God will help me develop this year but as for now I feel like I am more of a dead weight to my youth group than an asset. On a happier note though I actually got my church to start reading scripture mainly because I volunteered to. Well until next week fer well.

Hey Everyone
Kaleo is great although I am a little stressed out by the amount of work I still have to do for my classes. Although I know that the amount of work I have is nothing compared to the amount that I would have in a secular collage. But o-well home work is only a part of my life this week I went on an over night with just the guys in my Kaleo and it was pretty fun we made our own stake for dinner and went for coffee on the moon (which is a little coffee shop in the near by city of Duncan). I also shaved my head this week and I think it looks pretty good but I’ll let you be the judge of that. And as for my ministry this week my youth group had a Nintendo wii tournament and I had a blast connecting with the boys in my youth group. One of the boys and I had a bowling contest and he nearly won in the end he only lost by 7 points I think it would have been better for me to have lost but I wonted it to be a close game and in the end I got a strike and he only got three points. I was also very encouraged this week there were three boys at my youth group and I think that they'll be back next week. So thank you so much for all you prayer and support. Hey everybody
Things here couldn't be better here I just got back from three days of surfing and having lots of fun but I feel I am in the calm before the storm I have to read three books and write three papers. I feel this week will be a tough but rewarding one. As for my church ministry things are going well I lead a devotional this week for my youth group on how we show our faith through our works. Although I felt a little rushed in preparing for it I believe it went over well. However I still wish that god would provide the youth group with some more guys there are still only two and they are both every young. I personally believe that the reason that there are no guys in my youth group is because my youth group is boring, we don't have that cool youth pastor and we don't do those cool games that other youth groups do. I feel that I am no help because I myself can’t seem to relate to the kids and try as I may I am not that cool youth pastor. So if you could pray for God help and guidance in this matter I would be very great full. Well until next week fer well.

Hi everyone
This week was amazing, I had my first class spiritual formation with Dr. Marv Penner. So I have had little time to do anything but work. I currently have a book and three papers to write right now but I believe if I manage my time well enough I can get them done soon. And as for my weekly church ministry I went with my Youth Group to the Camp Qwanoes on the road tour, which is an event that Camp Qwanoes puts on each year for kids how didn't get to experience camp over the summer. I had a lot of fun interacting with the kids and was encouraged to see that there were about 15 kids from my youth group came that 5 more than we usually get to come to youth group. However it is still my prayer that more boys come there are only two right now. So if you could pray for that I would be much appreciative, it would also be appreciated if you could pray that my church would support the youth group a bit more. Well I should probably get back to writing my papers so until next week fer well.

Hi everyone
things are great here at Kaleo we just got back from a 5 day sailing trip with salts, which is a christian organization biased Victoria that owns two magnificent sailing ships that they use for there ministry. But concerning my ministry here I felt completely unprepared again this week because I got back on Friday and did not have enough time to really get ready. I wish that in the future i can work more closely with my youth group but it is hard due to my schedule and the fact that i really don't have any idea of what exactly i am suppose to be doing as a lead in my youth group. it is my prayer that our my youth group would grow and that the lord would use us to reach out to the community of lady smith. although i really enjoyed the getting to know the kids better this week when we had our meeting around a camp fire roasting shmores and sing song and telling story. It is my hope that next week will be better and that there will be more kids. so if you could pray for my youth group and for my studies as they are due to start to marrow i would be much appreciative.

his week was my first week of ministry and it went fairly well. Although I do wish I was a bit more prepared and informed about the youth group that I am going to be working with but next week I believe it will be better because now have a schedule for our fall events. I do hope that in the futuTre though more guy come to the youth group because right now there is only one and he's a bit young for me to work with. I have never really had a gift of being able to work with youth kids but maybe I will learn to relate with them a bit more this year as I lead and teach them. However at this weeks youth group I did like the fact that the kids seem to all get along with Deborah and myself even though it was our first time. Well there is not much left for me to say so until next time.

Kaleo Life

Kaleo life if full of adventure and excitement, of moments of great achievement and awesome realization. scene i have arrived here at Kaleo i have been immerse in a culture unlike that of any i have ever seen and i have seen my fer share of cultures. i am looking forward to the time to come and the adventures i will have this year but as for now i must focus on the present. so hears an up date on what has been going on scene i have arrived here i have begin my studies and am working had to read all the materiel for my first class. i have also just finished a 34 kilometer back packing trip and am looking forward to having my first ministry opportunity tomorrow as i will be helping the camp out by working in their challenge course which consist of versus types of rock walls and ropes courses.
